Look at a map of VA, see if y'all can find Norfold.

You won't find it, because...there's no such thing.

The assembly plant is located in N-O-R-F-O-L-K

Who would know better?
Who do you think would know better?

Someone who spent 35 years as a Ford partsman and who has decoded well over 700 VIN's here on FTE using Ford parts catalogs?

Someone who has been to Norfolk VA, and knows there's no such place as Norfold VA?

Or...the FTE VIN decoders...that are rife with errors and omissions?

So numbersdummy, why haven't I heard from you on my VIN number? How can I find out the original color is it on the VIN or is there color codes like on a GM?

You have heard from me...Norfold is NORFOLK! The rest of the info decoded above is correctamundo.

But...the VIN does not have the COLOR code listed within it, it's listed separately on the Warranty Plate thru 1980, on the Certification Label 1981 to date.

Ok, so we know who has the correct data; and apparently it is common knowledge that the FTE vin decoder is messed up.

So who is responsible for making the corrections to the FTE vin decoder link?

Where do I/we need to send a request for the thing to get fixed so that it reads correct information?

FTE (Internet Brands) is.

Contact IB Tim or IB Adrian.
It's not for any lack of effort on my part. I live about 30 miles from IB headquarters, have volunteered to go there and fix the damn things.

Also offered to loan them my parts catalogs, so they could be scanned. Then we could parts catalog illustrations here on FTE...that are sadly lacking.

I also have factory color chip charts, upholstery swatches (in color) and full line Ford (parts counter use only) accessory brochures for 1965/66's. Bet y'all would like to see these pictured here on FTE.

Then y'all could see the factory convertible top offered for 1965/66's!

No...it's not what you think. 'Convertible Top' was Ford's name for a canvas Styleside bed "camper shell" with a porthole window...that could be folded flat when the truck was being driven.
