Anyone else have tranny problem with a 2010 Escape?

Just 6 months ago the transmission was slipping (and the fluid was pretty much the darkest brown ever) so the dealer rebuilt it and explained something about why they needed to rebuild it versus giving me a new transmission and against my better judgment, I let them rebuild it...and now, the transmission fluid is brown and it's leaking...grrrrrrrr.

I want a new transmission. I'm sort of over trusting them to rebuild the current one.

Any one else on here with this problem? I'd really appreciate your comments.

Thank you!

Clean ATF is pink but it's normal to darken over time to a dark reddish brown as long as it doesn't smell burnt.

I didn't smell it...the leak and the color were enough of a worry for me to take it to the dealer. At the mobil one shop, they did put the fluid in this little plastic tray with a color chart and it was not normal...about one shade lighter than the darkest color...i didn't have my phone and couldn't take a picture and, they wouldn't let me take the tray with me to the dealer. I guess we shall see what happens tomorrow.

I'll try to keep an open mind, but it's going to be difficult.

Thanks!

BTW, when you say darken over time to a dark reddish brown...is that in 6 months, 1 year, 100,000 miles, 20,000 miles...what exactly should it look like being rebuilt and another 5k miles?

Ideas/thoughts?

My '09 purchased 11/08. Since I'm retired, don't drive that much so it has only 6,100 miles on it. It had turned dark already, I'd say within a year.

I had a transmission leak this summer, so it's fresh ATF. I should check its color now. Not sure how many miles since the fix but I did zero the B trip mileage counter at that time.
