Anyone here ever shopped there before?
I am curious how good are their engine block kits are. Realized earlier today that I can get the same power/displacement pretty much for a $3,295.00 420W block kit over my other route of custom building from scratch the new ford racing Boss 351 block. To be honest I think I got caught up in the whole "Boss 351" hype and didnt realize that I dont need all that. Same thing with camshafts, was looking for a 6,000 rpm camshaft years ago till I realized why the car kicks out of passing gear at 4500 rpm and cruises the highway at 85-90 at 2500 rpm.
But if anyone has bought from them before let me know what you think of them and if possible if their engine kits are any good. Another question I could put forth is would they be open to subsituting other camshafts (other than the SSI brand) or other piston rings (Total Seal over convential), or heads without going crazy on the price.
I might end up having to go with bigger dished pistons or aluminum heads, Compression is supposed to be 9.5:1 with the 4.040" (0.040" overbore, dunno if that is is even a smart overbore for a engine being used in a street vehicle) bore.
But instead of droning on just need information about PAW and if their engine kits are any good.

Then again I am thinking that 0.10" more stroke on the crank than what the oil pan is designed to handle might be able to be clearanced some.

I've built 3 of their Ford kit engines. All 3 of them came painted inside with rustoleum red and the quality of the machine work was excellent. No problems on any of them. The 351 cleveland I ordered with another make of cam and pistons. Price was very little more $$$. I would buy another one in a hot second!

On the price being more with the other make of cam and pistons did they charge you the full amount for the cam and pistons and subtracked the cost of the other pistons and camshaft that comes with the kits?

That is great to hear, I already knew about the rustoleum paint on the insides already but its also nice to hear that you can get it with another make of cam and pistons. I dont think I would want 9.5:1 compression with cast iron heads and trying to run 83-86 octane.

I would check with summit or jegs they have stroker kits to stroke 351W blocks but you would have to have a block and have it bored out. The EFI part can be done easily by just simply going with an EFI compatible camshaft and EFI components.
