The best thing to do is use the rating plate with the VIN # from the 250 on the 150 cab. Your F-250 has the original VIN # stamped on the passenger side frame rail. If you ever get pulled over with the rating plate from the 150 on the door and the VIN of the 250 on the frame you are going to have some explaining to do.
Your original VIN is good. Swap the markings from your old cab to the new cab. Shouldn't be a problem swapping those, but if you alter a VIN you have big problems.
contact your local dot and talk to the person incharge of inpsections on "kit" cars and such. most states do not look to kindly on swapping vin numbers on bodys. i have a buddy who swapped cabs on his truck and took both titles to the dot office and his truck had to be issued a new vin code from the state. they did it as a "kit" car type deal. you can be issued a huge fine. so call before doing any vin swapping, in most states its illegal.

Isn't there two vin location stampings on the frame ?
The second VIN number is stamped on the top right frame rail about 6" behind the front cab mount.
Thats the one I know about but I've heard there is another one. Anyone got a picture of it?
I'm thinking if it's there it probably would be on the other frame rail ?
No, it's on the same frame rail. It's stamped on the top right frame rail just about inline with the alternator.
Here's a pic.
Yes, thats the one I know of but I've always heard there is another one somewhere ? Probably on the left side frame rail somewhere, like Ranger429 said.
