New Vehicle Tax Break

I bought my 2009 Crew Cab F-250 4x4 back in November of 2009 and was wondering if these vehicles qualify for the tax break? I know one of the stipulations is that it is for vehicles of a gross vehicle weight of 8500 lbs or less and I thought I saw that my vehicle weighs more than that. I have read a couple conflicting things so I was just wondering if anyone knows the true answer or not?

I dont know if they changed things drastically. I purchased 2 trucks an 01 F250 and an 05 F350 both brand new.I was tax exempt on both, all I had to provide was my tax ID for the purchase. Both trucks had to be put under my business name, therefore I had to have comercial truck inspections a couple times a year and they really nail us hard on the plate fees for comercial trucks. I dont know what type business you have, but you dont need anything drastic. Hope this helps.

look at the certification label on the door pillar, drivers side and that will give you your gross. Most likely 10K.

Only breaks that I know of where for those runaway Prius type cars..Hybrids.

No Super Duty qualifies for the sales/excise tax deduction due to the GVWR restrictions (8,500 lbs. or less). Your '09 has a GVWR of 10,000 lbs.

The lowest GVWR of any current SD is 8,800 lbs. and that is a F-250 (regular cab) 4X2 w/ 5.4L...

If you live in Texas, all sales tax is deductable. This was a provision implemented since we do not have a state income tax that Sen Kay Bailley Hutchison introduced and passed 2 years ago. I purchased 2 vehicles and an RV, last year, and all the sales tax was deducted from my Federal return, it doesn't make any difference new or used.
If you did not have any big ticket items then you can take a standard deduction for sales tax.
