Positive ground

(Julie) Just wondering... is there a problem in changing from 6v positive, to 6v negative ground? I know a little about electricity, and don't know what would be impacted if I switched ground polarity.????
Any thoughts?

Just wondering, if you are not converting to 12 volt, why do you want to change polarity?

There isn't any reason you can't I guess, but like ..forever asked, if nothing would be impacted, why would you want to do it?

I would think you would have to flip flop the wire running through the ammeter, and maybe the wires on the coil. Maybe demagnetize and repolarize your generator field?

Most postwar tube radios are not polarity sensative BTW.

Never thought about it really.

What are you thinking of doing Steve? Ehh?

No radio.... (woulda thought it would have come with the "Deluxe" cab... LOL)

Don't know... just asking.. just thinking. Don't fully understand the difference between positive and negative ground... Just used to everything running to ground, not to "hot"...???
Again, just sitting around wondering.
Julie, yeah, I thought of the ammeter, generator, and regulator, would have to look at the coil...

Electrically, Negative Ground is more efficient. But probably not enough at 6 volts to warrent the change over.

"Ground" is the base - everything on the truck is ground. Only difference is what terminal of the battery you are using to provide it.

BTW (and there is some discussion on this) electricity normally flows from negative to positive on your truck.
