I am trying to locate a new (or used) fuel pump driver module for a 2004 F150 XLT Supercrew. I use my truck for work and have no other options for transportation. I am being told that new modules are back ordered and that I am number 701 on the list nationwide to get one. I am at the end of my rope. Anyone have any ideas where I can find one ??? Thanks.
new and its for a 2005 should be the same.mounts on round rail by spare tire.yours has probably been
rotten by road salt which is common for the unit on these trucks.they are in a bad spot.they need to be protected when changed.they make a liquid rubber for dipping tools into for rubber coating handles
which should work fine and offset the unit with spacers so the salt and water can rinse away.the unit is a die cast metal which will rust thru again without pre maintenace.will be back on around 4:00
My mechanic and his supplier. I have a friend who is a regional manager for Volvo (owned by Ford) chasing it also and he confirms there is a shortage and large backlog for this part. A parts manager at a local Ford dealer here in Pittsburgh also confirmed the shortage.
IF YOUR Fuel Pump Driver Module IS CRACKED AND ISN'T TOO BAD YOU CAN TAKE IT OFF AND BRING IT INTO YOUR HOUSE AND LET IT DRY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, AND THEN PUT SOME SILICONE AROUND THE CRACK AND PUT BLACK TAPE AROUND IT AND THAT SHOULD HOLD YOU OFF UNTIL YOU CAN GET ONE!!!! THATS WHAT I DONE TODAY UNTILL I CAN GET ONE!! IS FORD GOING TO RECALL THESE OR WHAT????
This is crazy...an $84 part is backordered till MAY?!!! BOOOOO Ford.
Please contact me if your FPDM is still available and also your asking price. I am in the same position and in desperate need for a functioning truck.
Thanks!!!!

I hate to revive a dead thread but I was searching the forums and this was the only thread I could find on Fuel pump modules. A friend of mine has an 04 E-350 motor home It keeps throwing a fuel pressure code I don't have available at the moment. I think its p0191 but I didn't bring home the note with it written on it. He took it to an independent shop he trusts to have it looked at. They told him it needed a fuel pump. It only has 70k miles and he has driven it 4k miles since they diagnosed it without the motor missing a beat. I wasn't so sure it was a fuel pump. I had read that the fuel pump driver module can cause this and more likely to cause this. Is there any way to test one of these? I know the fuel rail sensor can also cause this. Does anyone know how to test this it as well?
