66 speedometer part number.

This is probably a Number Dummy question... I need to replace the sweep speedometer on my '66 custom cab. The p/n on the one I have is C5TF-17265, but when searching it seems it should be C5TZ-17255. The question is.. which part number is correct and where may one be found?

he doesnt mention if its a 2 or 4WD truck...F250 and 350 used the round speedos whether CC models or not. The F100 is the 4WD which if a CC truck would have had the sweep speedo.

C5TF-17265 is the FoMoCo ID engineering number, it is not a Ford part number. This ID number's suffix is missing.

There are no actual Ford part numbers marked on any parts after 1956, ID numbers only (if applicable).

C5TZ17255 is an in-complete part number, its suffix is missing.

Here's the correct info: C5TF-17265-A = C5TZ17255A .. Sweep Speedometer Assy / Obsolete

Fits: 1965/66 F100/250 2WD Custom Cabs.

I found two of these NOS...sent you an email with the info / No Ford Dealer or other obsolete parts vendor has any.

If I typed the info here, someone might beat you to them.
--------------------------------------------------------
IsoGrifo: If a part number is in-complete, no one will show it in stock, even if it's still available from Ford...and every FoMoCo dealer/obsolete parts vendor on the planet has it.

ID engineering numbers cannot be used to find diddly-squat when typed into parts locator systems.

Don: I wasn't saying that he has a custom cab therefore it needs to be a sweep, The OP posted that it's a 66 custom cab with a sweep speedo.

Bill: ya... maybe I should start buyin the books...

ND, I got your email... THANKS. But before I call, I might as well ask you for the part number of the temperature gauge too... and see if I can get that from them too.

I'm not sure how the PO could have screwed these gauges up, but it sure looks like they were doing some experimenting

I am doing over my who electrical system and would like to replace all the gauge while everything is apart. The sweep speedo is toast, and I need a replacement. If you know of one that is availble please let me know also can you give me the complete numbers for the gauges including the amp, oil gauges. Mine is a 66 CC F100 2WD. Thanks in advance Greg

I guess back in the mid-60s, you could special order just about any combo you wanted. Try doing that today. My 65’ CC was ordered with a ‘four gauge’ speedo cluster, only because the original owner didn’t like the look of the new plastic sweep speedo and gauge package. He also didn’t like the idea of drilling holes in the dash to install the aftermarket gauge look in the old style dash. I had to agree with him back when he ordered the truck new. I like the old style round cluster. To each their own I guess.

I agree, I like the round gauge but want to keep her as she came.
