I have been wanting to vacation this summer in Michigan, I would like to visit the FORD plant and Museum. Would there be anything else to do in that area, I also would like to bring my 1975 F-250, would this be a good idea? I will be staying at a close by Hampton. Are there any schduled car and truck shows in the area that anyone knows of during the summer.
Next to Ford museum, which rocks, is Green Field village, you can spend a whole day in there.
Well, that is if its still open.
Not much to see in flint anymore, they tore everything down.
Ann Arbor is a nice area to visit.
In all honesty, i Cannot think of much reason to vacation here. There isn't anything left.
If you wanted, you could head north to frankenmuth and visit brawners and see more Christmas stuff than you would ever need too, and have some fun in town visiting stuff.
Anyone else ahve some ideas?
If your bored, bring the old gal, I'm sure Tim Peterson would hook up with you and his 72 250 camper special. Fuel is expensive here, dont forget that.

Good Morning,
What kind of plans or how far are you planning on going? What type of things are you interested in?
The Ford Plant tour is pretty cool, make sure you come on a Friday or Monday, the plant has not been running on the weekend. Kind of lame walking a Production line and not one person working.
The Henry Ford Museum, that is an all day event, there is a lot to see, and as for Greenfield Villiage, add another day. They also have a Imax theater, I have not seen this yet.
Are you Bringing kids? If not, Detroit has a GREAT night life, lost of bars, the casino's, everything is with in walking distance, parking is a bit of a pain for anything or 7'. And YES, it is safe in the center of Detroit for walking and bar hopping.
My favorite part of Michigan though is further North, we have 101 waterfallls ( some are only a foot high ) Sleeping beer dunes is cool, Traverse City, is a cool little town. William already listed Frankenmuth, What are you looking to do? Hell, I can even give you directions to place where you can sit in a cage with your family and take you picture with a 1 year old bear.
The main reason is to visit ford and the museum, from there it does not matter if I hang out there or head somewhere else. Maybe I will just go in that direction on Thursday for the Ford tour and catch the Museum on Friday and head back.
Thanks for the info.
Craig
