Today it got new plugs, wires, cap, rotor. Along with a fresh pair of belts, new air and oil filter, and 6 quarts of Rotella 15-40. A quick timing check and carb tune got her purring like a kitten ... a really loud kitten. No better way to spend a Sunday, than with your truck.

a look inside

It wasn't today but a couple weeks ago I used a 7mm bore camera to take a look inside. Doesn't look too bad.

Today I replaced the drivers side wiper linkage that had been worn out for 20 years. I finally got that monkey off my back! While I was at it I cleaned out and aimed my washer nozzles as well. I can finally drive the truck and safely see out of it!

Im feeling really proud of myself if you can't tell!

I found an old school camper shell to match the grandpa look.

The shell will need some work on the inside but it's in decent condition.

Installed dash pad, gauge bezel, NOS AM FM radio. Next up, replace fugly red carpet and beat up Grant steering wheel. Note I need to slightly modify stock tone and fader knobz... They will be addressed shortly. This is a NOS non Ford (ACSA) radio so it was not a direct swap.

Looking good on that dash and bezels. I do believe you are missing the tone and fader ***** all together, that fit under the outer volume/station *****?

But maybe since it is a NOS non Ford (ACSA) radio the ***** are different?

Do you have a spare set of stereo post "shaft nuts" to put on the outside of the radio bezel to hold it in place?

I use 2 on each shaft (front and back of the bracket) to hold the radio securely in place and use the rear mounted 2 angle support bracket.

I broke something! I fired up the yellow truck and it backfired a bit thru the carburetor. Then it wouldn't idle any more. I got it home, and will look into it on Saturday...

After 9 years of ownership I finally got the motivation to hook up the cigarette lighter that had a clipped wire when I bought it... that took all of about 5 minutes to find a bullet connector, solder to the lead for the cigarette lighter, and plug in under the dash.

Good suggestion on securing the radio. I dont have a ton of room with these after market shafts. The tone and fader factory ***** need to be trimmed to fit properly and that is next on the list. My only fail of the day was getting lazy and taking my truck to the car wash. Factory antenna fought and lost against the big bad evil car wash machine.
