It died just as I pulled into a gas station. It was the longest cranking, popping, cussing restart ever. I turned around and it died a mile later, slowly and painfully. I replaced the condenser and drove home. I come back to it later that day and it starts pinging out of nowhere. Basically all I did to it was get mad at it.

Wow. I'm feeling pretty lucky considering our trucks are quite similar. You seem to be having a lot of problems with it.

The odd thing is, is that it will be super reliable for a few months, then out of the blue it starts acting differently. I am not blame for the condenser, it was cheap to begin with and is a few years old. The truck does like to vex me though.
Hey skeeter if I was looking to buy a pickup and had the cash, I would make you a heck of an offer on that beauty - I absolutely love what you've done with it!

It's a family heirloom and my son gets it next.
A couple of weeks after pulling, replacing and filling the rear tank on the brown truck, the fill hose vibrated loose from the fill pipe. Leak is not the right word for it. Fuel was running out. The pressure from a full tank on a hot day, I guess.
Pulled the hose clamp, reseated the hose, and retightened the clamp, all while laying in a puddle of gasoline with fuel streaming down my arm. Good times!
Now that's how you grow hair on your chest, water it with gasoline.
