What Have YOU Done To Your Truck Today?

The other day I removed the encumbersome factory air unit out of the engine compartment so now I have full access to the right side of my '74 F250. I might have air someday but aftermarket is much more compact. Now I have to find a piece of the firewall from a non-air unit to cover the large hole in the firewall. That will come next time. Also scraped the grease off the left side of the frame and stripped the surface rust off of it to paint since I'm not doing a body-off resto on this.

Replaced the Vacuum Modulator Helped with the shifting issue I was having... Cheap and easy .. I recommend that if you have not replaced yours to do it.
Before replacing it the truck would sometimes not to shift. Driving along with no problems and come to a stop sign. Would have to rev the truck up to get it moving again. Then at the next stop sign it would be fine.

New Steering Wheel
Finally installed the new steering wheel today. I found this wheel at Dennis Carpenter in their seconds barn. It had a crack in it, but was way better than my old one. So I cleaned out the cracks, epoxied it up and repainted satin black. It looks so much better. I have to admit a had a couple issues with the horn and turn signals, but after sanding some paint off all works well.

Had everything but the box. Factory AC dash, all the lines are still in the engine compartment. the compressor was removed when I bought it but came with the truck. Truly it was a bit of a mystery to me, but I don't want the AC anyway so not a big deal.

Yep. Dealer installed A/C. An easy way to tell is the vent in the instrument cluster. If it has a screw on either side of the vent, it's dealer installed A/C. The dealer used the non A/C dash bezel and cut out the Ford emblem, then screwed a vent to the back side of the bezel.
Also, the A/C controls will be separate from the heater controls in the middle of the dash.
My '73 has dealer air.
