Just out of curiosity, make a note of when you installed them.
I put new side marker lights on mine a couple of years ago, and within six months they were already showing noticeable fading. Original ones lasted 40+ years without fading, and we’re only looking dirty and dingy when I replace them.
New one’s were sparkling clean and bright but started looking more clear by the month.

Not to mention, it’s nicely color coordinated!

Rebuilt tach installed

I had a vintage Sun tach laying around. Sent it out and had it rebuilt so you don't need the old transmitter box. Now it's all internal. I think I'll have to swap out the white led light bulb to a green one to match the green led dash lights.

Got my new NOS *****, bolts and washers installed. Ordered all new shiny stuff. Also stuck on the tailgate letters. Not to bad, wish I had painted them on, but at the time didn’t want them or the trim. Of course now I want both. lol the trim will be next if I truly get that motivated. I have thin trim to put on. Have to get it polished and that will take me some time. That alone killed the idea the last time. I will eventually paint the letters but this will be me by this year. Pretty good color match for Wimbledon white.

Absolutely love that color.

To keep on topic, because I’m traveling, I laid in bed thinking about all the things I need to do on my truck.

I put white F O R D tail gate letters on my trucks tailgate in 1989, over the "then" red paint of my tailgate, in 2021, after never sitting in a garage over night or out of the sun, rain, snow, etc ... by which time that red was a dull faded red ... and those stuck on letters looked as good as they did in 1989. No scratches, no peeling. I was given a trim insert, it's off a wreck, but was undamaged. It hangs in my basement.

I learned that changing valve seals with the heads still in the truck is a real pain. Especially 3, 4 and 8.

It wasn’t a good weekend to do the frame, but I got most of the loose chassis parts done. All theses parts went through an electrolysis tank for three days apiece, then detail brushed. They were wiped with Eastwood’s After Blast and PRE, then painted with chassis black rust encapsulator. Tonight they will get a coat of 2x ceramic chassis black top coat.

Thanks everyone, for the tips on electrolysis and paint.

I have done a few parts, and old cast iron cook ware. It's a trick.
