Got my truck out today and drove it for awhile. I guess I need to run the old gas out because the valves rattle some at cruising speed. Worked on my brake lights and hopefully going to put my new wheels on this weekend. I'll try to post some pics of my truck. Its been awhile sence I have done that.

I put the correct instrument cluster in my 77 sc lb Big Red. (38s). Then I sat in it dreaming of a new garage to fit it in!! Haha. Looked at the 400 motor I got for it. Made a list for the parts I'm gonna need. (Not a long one for once!!) Jeff

Drove it down the road finally!!!

Looked around at why brakes are notworkin which is tomorrows goal. New Headers will be here thursday so it doesn't sound like a hoopty.

Tomorrows plans are much more:
-Fix brakes
-Take off all wheels an just ghetto scuff them fast an paint black so they dont look so crappy rusted.
-Measure U-Bolts an center pins so I can go get new stuff an put in add a leaf to pick up this saggy rear end.
-Look over steering to find the play in it.

Which one?

Well, I moved my 1981 F100 form the back of my house to the front and I stared at my 1940 F? that I'm building in my garage. I wish the 81 wasn't rotted out. Even with all its problems it's a nice ride.

Replaced a leaky PCV valve. I was having trouble with the idle of the truck and with it stalling out completely. Was worried it was the fuel lines. Nope, just the valve, all gunked up and nasty.

Now the truck is running much more smooth. Still takes awhile to warm up and idle properly. Drove it around, ran some errands. Filled her up with gas.

Next issue is: bad oil leak at rear engine seal. Sheesh... Looks like I have to remove transmission to get at it. Not sure if I can do that just by crawling under the truck.

Snow covered

Looked at mine and saw the snow melting off it, now I am more excited about spring coming than I was yesterday cause pretty soon I can put my new license tag on and take it for a spin, can't wait.

Finally figured out why I could either have dash lights or stereo but not both. After removing the "custom installed" stereo and removing the hack job of a wiring harness, I determined that they grounded the stereo to the positive side of the dash lights. The P.O. couldn't understand why he kept blowing fuses. I even fixed the rattling door panels the P.O. TRIED to fix with sheet rock screws.

FYI Needa part # 454640 panel retainers will reattach your door panels without modification. $2.49 for 3 at O'Reilly Auto.

Don't you just love some P.O.'s.

Changed my speedo cable this afternoon. Speedo works although I don't know how accurate it is.

I drove mine to the paint store and home again. (almost a 60 mile round trip) It runs so nice and smooth, ...I had a big smile on face the whole trip.
