Pulled the engine from my '79 F150 last night. Building up the courage to go ahead and remove the cab & bed for a frame off resto.

Installed both upper and lower radiator hoses, filled the radiator and was about to fire her up when I realized I should have removed it to paint it with por. Do I re drain it in the name of obsessive compulsive disorder?

Are you sure it's a good idea to paint a radiator with POR? The stuff I used was kind of thick. I'd hate for paint build-up to mess with the cooling.

Not sure you need that kind of rust preventative on the exterior of a radiator, either.

I'm interested in hearing other takes on this.

I just mean painting the top and sides, not the cooling faces. POR is probably gross overkill. But spraying it with semi-gloss black would clean up the engine bay a bit.

I built battery boxes.

Tired of the stock ones with plastic tops that crack and small threaded rod that is held on to the shytty thin tray!
I used 1/2" bolts with 3/16 angle tabs and 1/8 plate for box..

I got ALL the electrical issues resolved! I can now turn on the lights and turn signals without blowing fuses. The hazard flasher is kinda weak so I'll be replacing that along with the headlight relay mod on Monday. Was thinking about modding marker lights/turn signals and brake lights to LED... Anyone done this yet??

Got my new wheels and tires on, got both inner fenders, pass. side door and fender on and lined up. Found out that the paint on the doors and fenders does not match the rest of the truck so looks like the painter gets to do some repainting.

if you do LEDs, you will need resistors. because they are so efficient, it causes your turn signals to blink very rapidly, the way they would to indicate that you have a light out.
