What Have YOU Done To Your Truck Today?
#796
I got up early on Sunday morning and washed my truck before the sun got too hot and dried the water into water spots on the paint. I pulled it into the garage and dried it off and waxed the whole truck twice. I wanted to get a deep shine and smooth out the paint with a second coat. I will drive it to work tomorrow (Wed).

Shouldn't you have done that the other way round, to save yourself some brake fluid?
Random question - what engine mounts (and towers) did you use on this truck? I've got the exact same setup in my '77.5, but the PO who did the motor swap decided it was easier to notch the frame with a cutting torch rather than put the correct (centering) mounts in, so my engine sits about 4" to the passenger side.
Just curious what you used for the conversion - was it just stock 2wd 460 stuff?

In the past 2 days I've:
-swapped out a bad FMX for a good FMX
-replaced a ujoint
-installed petronix & set the timing x6 (first petronix I got was a dud, so I swapped back & forth with points numerous times trying to figure out where the problem was)
-replaced the coil
-replaced the cap & rotor & wires
-replaced the temp sender
-reinstalled the gauges
-replaced the fuel pump
-replaced the power steering belt
-replaced the battery ground cable and engine-ground strap
-replaced the vacuum lines
-replaced the headlights with H4 conversions
And now I can drive it! It'll be my first real drive since I got it three weeks ago. Whoooo!

I installed the throttle linkage ball I got off the net on my Holley carb after waiting over 2 weeks for it when I should have been able to pick it up at my local auto parts store. At least I can rev up the engine from inside the truck now. Next paycheck I am getting a np435 transmission and the adapter for the np205 I picked up not too long ago. Maybe I will get to drive it soon its had 8 months of down time. Ive only driven it twice! The first time was to see if I wanted to buy it and the second time was to move the dead cars around to put it in the garage. I think I put maybe a mile on it since I got it.

I was going to bleed the brakes (replaced front hoses & calipers) but it started pouring! Sucks! At least it dropped the temperature down to the mid-low 80's!
