Looking good man!

After a couple hour ride, I decided to put in some LEDs I had ordered a while back for Underhood lighting.

That pic was taken in the shop with the door down and those are the only lights on. I was kind of shocked how bright they are for only being 6.5 inches long each. They have 3M tape on them and I ran them though the hood and have a small toggle mounted near the solenoid.

I worked on mine a bit today until the 90 degree heat before the humidity caused me to drink beer instead of work on my truck. At least I know there won't be any stupid mistakes as I stopped working on it before I really got into the beer....lol.

replaced the WAY too small battery (570 cold crank amps is a little on the light side. i'm pretty sure the guy i bought it from just grabbed the nearest handy car battery just to get it started when we bought it). after a year and a half it finally started acting up on us.. cranking super slow and whatnot. kicked right over and ran great with new battery. also washed it. in the rain. hey, if it's already raining i can't make it rain by washing my truck, can i. lol

also... i blew the doors off a Dodge. lol

was driving home after some shopping and other misc appointments and it was raining... was waiting at the last stop light before the end of town... at the light it's 2 lanes each way, but maybe a 1/10 of a mile or less past it narrows to 1 lane each way. i normally don't accelerate very hard... the 460 is a thirsty beast, and old. i try to nurse it as best i can both for fuel economy (such as it is) and the desire to not blow my engine up... but, in that rain... a big dodge truck next to me was so desperate to pass me and not get stuck behind "the old slow Ford" that he spun his tires about 3 times... all without ever really going faster than my grandma-esque acceleration rate.

i got a big goofy grin, punched it (carefully. i didn't want to make the same noob mistake spinning out that he was), and left him so far i my dust he didn't catch up till 3 miles later when i was making the turn into where i live

laughed so hard...

Haha! Nope, that was the home I was turning off the road to. But that would have been even funnier.

Was still funny tho. You could just FEEL the guy's desperation to not be behind me when the road narrowed, and i just laughed and took off.

Installed a Vacuum bypass heater valve from a 2007 Explorer. So much nicer than the single hose non bypass original version. Heading to the junkyard to find a Fan blower switch connector. My fan will turn to low but not turn off, looked at the connector and its a molten black plastic glob.
