That seems like one slick setup there!

The way I see it there are 4 basic choices in tailgate/bed steps and then it comes down to personal preference:
  • - Milk Crate/Bucket with a string through it $14.50 Milk Crate – Commercial Milk Crate - Duluth Trading Company
  • - Step/Ladder mounts on the tailgate, from $40 to $150 Convert-a-Ball, Topline, Westin, Hitchmate, Living Step
  • - Step that mounts in the hitch receiver $40 up to $300 Bully, Hitchmate
  • - Step that mounts to the truck frame/bumper $150 to $300 www.debostep.com Amp Research
Good Luck with the decision.

I'm leaning towards the Debo, as it would also help when the tailgates up, and it's half the price of the Amp.

I currently have the milk crate option, but fear for it's security in the bed of the truck :-)

I have a Debo Step

Great purchase. Am 61 and really helps getting up and down. Think mine is defective though. Difficult to pull out and push back in. Installation took two minutes using existing bolts.

No step for me yet.
At 53 one of my ongoing age/agility tests is whether I can still put one hand on the tailgate and jump up onto it (my other is bounding up steps 2 at a time). A stroke 2 years ago slowed me down for a little bit, but I'm back to hopping in my truck bed unassisted.
I think I'll wait until I'm 60 for a tailgate step.

I'd personally pick the Debo-Step myself, in fact I just may get 1 since my truck doesn't have the new style tailgate...Looks slick

I have the amp bed step.It bolts to the the frame and folds down when you need it.It works with the tailgate open and closed,it is a little pricey but works well,I am happy with mine.

i just use the hitch to bumper, then step over the tailgate. if the tailgate is open, i go over the side and use the tire.
