Replacement keys
Curious where most of you get your replacement keys and fobs from?
I noticed my truck Key works on the ignition switch, but not on the doors or tailgate. The key goes into the key slot, tuns around in there but doesn't do anything. But it will turn the truck on. When it comes to getting inside the truck, I have to rely on my key fob.
A guy explained that the door actuators are not activated, or are missing. I'm not real knowledgeable on this but even if that were the case, I presume the key would still work on the tailgate, which it does not.
I asked my friend I bought it off of about this, and he said he bought it that way but wasn't sure.
Can I have a place make me a key based on the Vin# or Door sticker on the side?

The door actuators have to be working if you can get inside using your key fob. It sounds like the rod came off between the lock cylinder and the door latch or maybe the plastic clip holding it broke . It is a easy fix just pull the door panel off and you will probably see right away the problem .
