New gauges installed (pics)

Just installed new Glow Shift gauges and an Autometer pillar.
I usually use Autometer gauges...but I wanted to try something new.
I installed a EGT (into exhaust manifold),Trans temp (probe in Mag-hytec pan),Boost pressure, and Volt meter.
For an EGT gauge...what is a normal/average temp I should be seeing?
Also what should I be looking for on the trans temp gauge?

are those the ebay brand ones? I looked at those but the gauges were not in the ranges I wanted... like 2000 deg EGT or 60 psi boost seemed pointless to me... look good though. take a wide angle night pic I would like to see how they look against the rest of the factory gauges

They look nice. I have ISSPro, love the look and color matching of the Ford dash. What were the cost of those?? They look tight.

Thanks guys!
I'll take another pic tonight.

On your EGT and trans gauge, what is your average reading?

Very clean setup - I like it!

+1 on where you purchased it, the match to the interior looks near perfect.

Can't be of any help on the trans or EGT temps, too new to this game. I'm sure someone on here knows - the knowledge base here amazes me.

Average readings will vary due to weather and driving conditions. You need to be concerned with max temps.

Keep your EGT's under 1200 to 1250 and your tranny temps below 220 to 225 as a rule of thumb. You can exceed those numbers, but not for very long.

For example, if you're pulling a grade with your trailer, as you approach the crest, your exhaust temps hit 1300 for a few seconds, it's no prob. Just try not to do that very often. If you find yourself near the edge of those temps often, you'll need to think about upgrading your intercooler.

If you find your trans temps pushing over the upper limit of the safe temps posted above for very long, you'll need to pull over and let your rig idle for a bit until it cools off. Never shut your truck off if you need to pull over because your trans temps are too high. The hot fluid will just cook the innards.

Stewart

EDIT: I just realized you said you placed your trans temp probe in the pan instead if the test port on the side of the transmission, so the trans temps I listed above should be lower. Unfortunately I don't know the rule of thumb temp diff between the pan temp and the trans temp. Hopefully someone will chime in.

Yeah, they do sell them on Ebay. I think the gauge ranges were more geared for ricer guys.
But if you go to their website they have more options. GlowShift Gauge Series - A Pillar Gauges
I bought the Black 7 color Gauge Series
EGT 1500 deg $110
Boost 0-60 psi $45
Trans temp 0-300 $50
Volts $43
