Bad syncronizers or shift fork?

Ok 6 speed owners heres one for you. When the trany is cold and I shift from 1st to 2nd it likes to grind and sometimes pop. This is always worse when its cold and seems to get better as the temps rise. Their is also times when its hard to get into gear mostly reverse, low, and first, this happens warm or cold. So I thought it was probly a bad syncro and bent shift fork what do you guys think? is their an easy repair or is the tranny on its way out?

From what you say about it being hard to get into reverse, first or low, I would suspect the clutch isn't disengaging completely. I think I would look at the hydraulic clutch setup.
That would cause it to grind between gears also. I just finished putting a new 6 speed in my truck. It wasn't easy.

X2 on that, my double disk is finicky like that. Check the simple things first, clutch master cyl fluid level, and make sure you are fully disengaging the clutch.

If it was a bend fork, or an issue with the detent, it would be hard(and maybe impossible) to put the tranny into any gear with the engine on. If all of that is fine it should go into all gears, even low and R with the same ease with engine off.

As said look at the hydraulic system first (master/slave). A bent fork will soon bend enough and you cant change gears at all heres a pic of my broke fork.
