noisey weatherstripping
I have a 2002 crew cab 4x4, and the doors are driving me nutz!! They don't rattle, and I have adjusted them tight, but what it does do is squeak, more like moan from every door as I drive down the street. It is really bad on rough pavement, but is even annoying going in and out of driveways, or on smooth roads.
I have tried lubing the weatherstripping w/ silicone spray, and even waxing the door where the weatherstripping touches it, but nothing helps. When standing outside the truck and gently pushing on the closed door, it is audible as well. Will the silicone tubing inside the weatherstripping stop it from rubbing on itself and making this noise?
I like the truck, I just don't like driving it around when it moans like a wet *****!

My 04 did this terribly when cold. There was a TSB that has improved upper body weatherstrips. After installing the new ones it has been quiet for many years. To be clear it's not the weatherstrips around the door's, but the one's that run from the windshield and up over the top of both doors.

Try cleaning and lubing the latch finger and latch receiver it latches onto. That's where my squeak was coming from. My latch receiver has a coating on it that is wearing through and allows metal to metal contact. I keep thinking I'll see if I can buy a replace receiver but haven't really searched for one yet.

My SuperCab started doing this a few weeks ago after I washed it and wiped the door jams and weatherstripping clean with a we towel. I think the dirt/dust on it before was helping quiet it. Its driving me nuts now, I think using some sort of powder on the weatherstripping would help, but not sure what would be a good choice.
