I may have missed it earlier, but what year was your Expy and how many miles did it have on it? Also, was it 4wd?
You should get what you had. Insurance is supposed to make you whole again. We're not supposed to get rich off of insurance settlements... plenty of people have and that's why the companies are so protective.
But ask the customer service specialist if her car has air conditioning. And then ask her if she'd miss it in July. You aren't asking for a new Bentley, but they weren't insuring an old Tempo either.
They owe you what you had.

It was a 2007 4X4 with 47K on it. And yes we talked today about how she has had total losses herself and said that she had to replace one of her Hondas with another with an option or two less once. I continued that she may have been fine taking less as a replacement but that i had some non-negotiable options to look for. She suggested that i look hard for the replacement and negotiate well since the settlement was not intended to provide the dealership with the padding they build into the prices. I an on trying just that. And a few more calls today yielded a few more "we just sold that one" responses.

you willing to travel? Virginia has a pretty high car value market. You could probably grab a plane flight within a 500 mile range for $200-300 and then drive back for about $200 in gas.
it would be a day trip, albiet a long one...but if you head South, the average cost of living is alot lower. So you might find some better deals. Especially if you live near Nor*****. That is one expensive place.
I went to Carmax.com and did a search for any within 500 miles of you. I found several that I think would meet your guidelines. 3 in particular caught my eye. all of them had <50k miles and were $28-29k...1 was at $32k though.
Eddie Bauer - 4x4 with liftgate & DVD system @ $30,000
Limited - 4x2 with 10K miles for $30,000 - Doesn't say it has the liftgate, but I'm fairly certain that in 2008 the Limited/KR's got the power liftgate standard.
Limited @ 25k miles with power liftgate...but $32,000
hope you can get something useful from that.

Bought a replacement today
Well, we bit the bullet on a pearl white 2007 EL Limited tonight. It has lower miles than my previous one and it has nav. Wasn't able to negotiate enough since these things are not sitting on the lots at all. But we are happy and glad it is almost over. Had to drive about two hours to get it. Now will have to go back to pick it up later this week after they touch up the rear bumper and gather a nav disc and get the headphones and remote for the dvd. Hopefully i will be able to pick it up before we leave for vacation on Saturday. I will add pics when i get them. I took one with my phone and will upload it in a minute.

It looks great! I'm sure you will be happy with it and I'm sure you're glad this ordeal is nearly over. Good luck with it and happy driving.

Thanks to everyone who followed along with my saga. Maybe I will pass you on the highway some day.

My wife thinks it looks a bit "Bling". Either she will get used to it or we will get different wheels when we replace the tires. But the tires have a lot of life lefy on them.

Thanks. I can't wait to pick it up later this week. And i will be sure to give a wave if I pass you.
