How long has the core that is in the truck been there? It could be that it is largely plugged up...

That's why I love these forums - so many good ideas!
Be sure to check the blend door, it is cable operated, A/c trucks the door is outside under the hood on top of A/c box. Non-A/C is inside on heater box. Maybe not opening up all the way.

Fellro, I think it's original; but not sure. I did take a bucket, transfer pump and flushed out the core with 5 gallons of fresh water. At first, there was a tad bit of brown gunk, but then it cleared up and was good.

Moose, I checked the blend door and it appears as if it's hooked up and in good order.

I'm going to take her out tomorrow morning and see how she does. I still like the bore-scope idea and will see if a friend of mine will lend me his for a look-see.

It may still have some blockage even though you got a bit out.

Blockage comes in different forms. The outside gets blocked and plugged just as or more often as the inside by rotten leaves, pine needles, dog hair, etc, plugging the fins and not letting much air through.

Ok gentlemen, I want to thank you for all your input!

I got my truck fixed yesterday. Turns out I have the "high output" core in my truck already, which is very nice.

Also turns out that I thought that my airflow was normal or strong, but it really wasn't. The core itself was about 50% blocked with an unknown substance. I couldn't wash it out and I couldn't use compressed air to get it out.

Whatever is in between the fins of the core I can't see and therefore can't be identified. All I know is that when I took the old one out and looked through it with the sun behind it, I could only see partial sunlight.

The new one was perfect; you could see all the fins diagonally, etc...

Now, she roased me out and I have awesome airflow.

On a side note, my A/C evap was freezing last year, leading me to believe that there wasn't enough airflow, but as I said, I thought it was real good. I thought it was because of being R134a instead of R12, but I'm definately convinced that it was airflow.

Thanks again guys!
