J-code trans

How can I ID a J-code trans in a lightning? Truck was built in March 2001.

If the truck has a J-code, how concerned should I be? Truck already has 47,000 miles on it.

It should be a place in your owners manual. That gives you the codes..

The ID tag on the side of the tranny will have a J1 in it.
It's the mechanical diode that fails and you lose second gear.
Not all of the J1s break so just drive it as usual.
Mine broke twice while under warranty.
