what do you classify as "cheap". honestly the word cheap does not belong with the word lift when it comes to suspension on a truck.

So you want it to be high quality, but you don't want to pay for the time, effort, and design process that went into that quality.

Yeah I'm not really into off roading. I just want a decent lift kit but don't really want to spend thousands of dollars on one. That and I don't really keep my trucks long enough to justify dumpin lots of money into..

1- What is the purpose of the lift?
2- What is your budget?

Since you have an f-150, the CHEAPEST way to do an effective and durable lift is to find a f-250 or f-350 with the same year range as your truck in a junk yard or pick a part and take the front springs and rear leafs off it. Then after you do that if you still want more lift do an add a leaf for the rear, and spacers for the front springs(can even use strong washers). If you still want more after that then buy a body lift that comes with brackets to raise your bumpers so it matches the body lift, or make your own kit.

ok perfect! Yeah I have heard that you can do that. My buddy took springs off an e350 ambulance once and put them in his 88 f150 and it lifted it pretty good. The problem I want to fix with my truck is the front end dives quite a bit or rakes whatever you call it. haha I want to get it so it sits level not so that it looks like a street truck cuz it's definatly not!

Hey Kev
I thought you wanted a leveling kit?
I've got a 96 F-250 for parts. It's got leafs in the front so only the rears would be of any use to you.

Yeah Steve I don't really know what I want to do with it yet. haha I was just asking around. I would like a lift kit but don't really have the money to spend on that now.. I'm thinking I just want to level it for now.. So I think I'll have to find some 350 springs or something or just buy a leveling kit. That and I really need to make sure I'm gunna keep this one haha. I'm pretty sure I'm gunna it's nice.

Yup theres a recipe for that. f250 or f350 front springs AND rear leafs will level it out and raise it a bit.

The salvage yard F250/F350 parts are ok.

Don't lift the front more than about 2 inches or you will have trouble getting it aligned properly with out I beam drop brackets.

It will also handle bad unless you have the I beam and radius arm drop brackets and the proper pitman arm if you go higher than that.
