I'm going to take my Excursion to River City diesel in Peoria. There the cheapest that I have found price wise to do the EGR delete kit. They said I can bring it down there in the morning and wait if I would like while they do it. DeLong ford in Dwight IL is also really experienced with diesels, and they are my second choice.
how much are you being charged? i probably will do the egr delete myself, but i need the head studs done by someone who has done one before. i hate to pay $2900 to have the head studs and gasket done.
330-350 in labor at River city diesel plus the egr delete kit. Delong ford was a little higher, because there shop rates where more. If you want to call and get a price on the studs, give them a call at 815-584-3016 Ask for Matt Bozrath he is the service manager. Tell him what your looking to get done and tell him Josh with the white excursion sent you. I bought my Excursion there, but they put on my exhaust, gauges and got me my SCT programmer. There in a small town, but they def. know what there doing. 2 months after I bought my excursion it was acting up 30 miles away. The owner of the shop personbally came and picked me and the excursion up with a flatbed, took me back to his shop, drove the excursion around the block. He came back and had the problem fixed within 20 min. I was amazed.

I have two E40D's one out a 90 f350 diesel, the coast clutch assembly will come apart nor will the input shaft come out. The clutch plate for the O/D clutch pick is cooked to one of the steel plates. The other is out a 150 with a 4.9 line 6 with about 15000 on rebuild with new torque converter. I am looking to change out parts. But when I took the coast clutch assembly out of the one from the 4.9 it has a small 1 inch end on it. The one from the diesel dose not. Can I take all parts from front pump to park gear out of the 4.9 one and put it in the diesel one? Also can anyone tell me how or where to get a real good DVD or ebook on E40D.
Thanks.
