Well cause it sounded like an interesting add. I called him about 5 times and emailed a couple times. I got one email reply saying he still has it and make an offer. I emailed him back saying I didn't want to make an offer without seeing it and have yet to hear anything back.

I was to say the least surprised to see that add pop up here.

1961 Mercury M-100

Are these trucks worth anything? I have someone here selling a 61 M-100 for under $3000.00. It is used as a daily driver and has minimal rust. Just wondering if it is worth doing a restoration project.

The real reason was because up here in Canada, it used to be just a Ford dealer, and a Mercury+Lincoln dealer. Most towns only had one dealer, so they introduced Mercury pickups so that the Mercury+Lincoln dealers had a truck to sell. The mercury line went up to big trucks, I was looking at a Mercury M500 but didn't buy it because it was too far gone. There is also a bumpside Mercury M100 but its also beat up.

May want to hit that salvage yard and grab the taillamps?? IMO, seems asking a ridiculous price and would shop for new repro's, but then I am not a purist.

Pricey for sure. I never knew those existed. Maybe somebody has to have them because I think nothing "Mercury" is reproduced.

1960 Mercury parts

Hello..I'm new to the group and joined to get some parts to an appropriate owner! So...I bought a 59 Ford Short box because it was a good deal and I've always liked them. With the truck came some extra parts.. MERCURY parts..I'm aware that the sheet metal is the same..but these all came off the same parted out truck 25 years ago. I have a pair of complete doors..hood w emblems..chrome grille..horn button....core support w lower valance and I believe a Merc only lower trim piece?..and a rough tailgate.. The embossed MERCURY is good but had had repairs around edges. Like most of us..I have to many projects and am going to now sell the complete Ford truck...separate from the Merc only parts. Any body here restoring a 1960 Mercury truck that's missing parts??

In the US Chevy trucks will always bring more money for show, Ford trucks have been #1 in truck sales 40+ years running. I have never been able to figure that one out.

A 61 Uni should be a an excellent project. IMHO
