We will be one of the first people to drive the SuperDuty and should have a full drive report come March 8 with photos. What would you like to find out about the truck while we are there?

Hopefully the 6.7L Scorpion will resist the abuse and the modifications done by our farm boys out west. Looks like Ford has a winner and god helping be a grand slam for the truck industry. By the way, how hard is it to make the excursion again? All it is is an hatch back-like on the bed and third row seats, call it the F-250X or make an F-450X. I think theres are alot of people interested in a truck thats diesel, 4x4 and has third row seats? I know it doesnt cost Ford much to fabricate them. Anyone else thinks its a good idea? Wonder if the people from Ford do actually read these blogs and take in considerations........

I think its fair to say there is a market there, but its pretty small.
And the market that is there will probably just buy a converted 4x4 e-series.

Adam and Mike, the chief engineers for the new 6.7 diesel and the 6.2 gas engine respectively are on here now answering questions.
I couldn't tell you whether suggestions that we put forth actually make it into production (while we have over 1/2 a million Ford-Truck owners on here, its impossible for us to meet each request)

Kudos Adrian on another great thread! Question for you though...Although Adam and Mike have been gracious enough to come on here and answer multiple powertrain related questions, do you think there's any chance we could get someone on here that could answer questions about the rest of the truck?
I know one of the complaints a lot of us have had over time is the inadequate OEM headlights and I wondered if that had been addressed in the new trucks. Additionally, I'm sure there are questions about interiors and other components such as the factory gooseneck / fifth wheel option, etc.
Just wondering.

John,
I will ask - no guarantee's though
Also, outside of the engines, the engineering team are split up very differently, so it would require a number of different people (for example there is probably one engineer that is responsible for the front head lights, another that is responsible for the center console etc.) and it might be difficult to get the entire engineering staff on here!

Sounds good Adrian! Never hurts to ask.

I have been intesrested in a new F250 Diesel
just waiting for the right time to buy
I'm new to the list but I have a question from hearsay
That Ford bought Cummings motor
and that Dodge was going to use a Mercedes Diesel
what is the truth bout that
Ford was to come out with a Cummings Diesel by Ford
I see the Ford has a new motor 6.7
is this it or did Ford just stick with Powerstroke and made a new one ?
Ford doesn't own Cummins. The 6.7 is a Ford in-house diesel developed and produced by Ford. Ford no longer sources their engines from Navistar for the Super Duty trucks (F-250-F-550). The 6.7 engine size is the only thing the new Powerstroke has in common with the 6.7 Cummins in the Dodge other than both of them running on diesel. The 6.7 Cummins is an inline 6 cylinder and the new Powerstroke 6.7 is a V8.
Oh and welcome to FTE!

I think they will start appearing in dealerships sometime in April.
Thanks, Adrian. I just got the My Ford magazine and in the Ford Showroom section is has the 2011 Super Duty coming March, 2010. I assumed they would start showing up late March into April. Keep up the good work!
