Powerstroke mechanic!
so,i have now informally intro'd myself. time to officially contriubute my story. i am fred,a 29 year old ford powerstroke mechanic. i am not a brand loyalist,i drive every make of vehicle, but i love ford powerstrokes! i recently purchased a 1964 ford p100 van,and i an going to use this vehicle to start a mobile/onsite ford powerstroke repair business.i have very recently quit my job working for the big blue oval, and it's time to go out on my own and expand my skills. tragically the little 223 I6 is rough in the van.all i have at my disposal(dont wetfart when i say it) is a hotrod chevy smallblock.i am going to swap that in to get my business on the go,and when the funds roll strong,i am planning on a superduty swap! i specialize in the ford 2003-2007 6.0powerstroke,so if anyone needs some help, please dont be afraid to message me or email me! i will be glad to consult for free, and if you need a hand that arrangement can be discussed! hope this finds you all well, and hopefully some guys in here can benefit from my service and offering of my intensive powerstroke training!

Thats great that your a 6.0 specialist, there is never enough of those haha.
So tell me, how hard is it to pull the engine from a 6 liter truck? I found one for very very cheap, and have been pondering it but then engine needs heads, or head gaskets (owner didnt know for sure) and I was thinking about a cummins swap...

Hey Freddie, thanks for the upgraded intro! Hey, don't sweat the chebby mill. Use what ya got. As for the PSD in the future, that sounds awesome. I love to see stuff that's not just the same ol', same ol'. One of these days, when I make it into the 'peg, I'll have to look you up and go for coffee. I work in Brandon, but live west of there. Still make it into the city a couple times a year. There's a couple on here with 6.0's. I'm sure they'll ask a few ??? every now and then.

FTE really doesn't encourage people to problem solve and troubleshoot through private messaging or email. It is contrary to the whole point of an internet discussion forum. The point being to share information with everyone and save it for anyone to look up. A private message only helps one person. A discussion thread may help dozens.

Question for Crankshaft
Hi
I have a 2007 Ford Ranger with a 2.8 liter powerstroke engine. It was rebuilt about 7000 km ago with Ford parts and by a seemingly good mechanic. A few weeks ago, not under any load and not doing anything out of the ordinary my crankshaft broke in 2.
The new crankshaft is in route but Im looking for suggestions on what might have caused it to break and if I need to do anything special when installing the new one.
Also, being in a very humid environment how should I pre lube the parts during the preassembly?
Thanks so much

well welcome Speedwayfreddy, I have a 05 F350
wow, I figured that 2.8 litre guy was mistaken but I youtubed and googled it. Its actually a lil ranger with a powerstroke that doesn't sound too bad at all, if they were availible here might be tempting.
oh and prep I just hauled another load of steel into town with my 6.0, and its still holding coolant, suck it

Welcome to FTE! I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay. Plenty of great people on here.
I'm kind of surprised that there is such a thing as a 2.9 Powerstroke engine out there. Never knew. I must say though... it does sound a bit on the feminine side in comparison to the 6.0L... isn't loud and burley enough for me haha.
It almost sounds like a 6.0 on helium hahahaha.
