We have awesome bird hunting here on our farm and I dug a pond for catfish a couple years ago. They aren't ready yet. I wish I had a place to go shoot some hogs. I build and work on sniper rifles for a living and while I have a shooting range here it would be a lot nicer testing them out on some hogs. Some pork chops are a bonus too.

Hey quick question since were on the topic of temp gauges. When my truck is completely warm, the needle is in the R. This seems higher than your guys'. I just replaced the thermostat about a month ago because the needle wouldn't move at all before. I also changed out the sender unit as well.

Mine sits straight up, between the R and the M, with the 203 thermostat. Before it was right at O.

Unlike some here, I've found these temp guages to be very accurate if working properly. I have two other gas rigs of this body style I drive regularly and all three very accurately show temperature. Now just if the guages were numbered...

Mine sits at the N with normal driving at 60F outside.

Pulling a 6000 lb trailer at 55MPH up I think a 12% grade for few miles caused the needle to move between the N and the O

If the needle is on the word NORMAL, and you have heat, and nothing is boiling over, I wouldn't worry about it.

You may have air trapped under the thermostat if your temps are high. Those who have temps in the O or R all the time this is likely the cause.

The T-stats have an air bleed.

Granted Bill. Then why do folks always have overheating issues after changing the stat until they get rid of the bubble? Thread upon thread. I changed the stat and my temps are high. Get rid of the air and voila. Problem gone.
