batteries

I am pretty sure the batteries are going south on my '97 and was wondering what recommendations you guys have for batteries? The ones on the truck are 850 cca AC Delcos. would like to step up in amperage maybe 900 or 950.

Optimas!

No more leaks, no more maintenance and much better cold weather performance.

I have 4 of them on my rig with the slide in. All of them charged by the alternator when the engine is running or by shore power when I'm plugged in or the solar panels on the roof at all times. The truck batteries are three years old now, camper two years and never run out of juice. Even when out camping off the grid for a week rinning the heater and everything else inside.

I did a little modification and put group 31 batteries in my truck. These are the batteries you will find in big trucks and tractors. I like them they have a lot of reserve and 925 CCA each, I hear good things about optimas but they are just a little to expensive for me to justify it when typically truck batteries bought at places like catco are cheaper than the factory sized batteries.

I use wal-mart batteries had them in for 3 years no problems and they are only $75.00 each. I can't justify the optimas. Just my .02

Autozone, Walmart, Interstate are all made by Johnson Controls! just a different colored top.
I am sure there are many other stores carrying batteries made by Johnson Controls also
