Need help identifying this old chebby, please
I'm a chef at a fmily run restaurant here on the Jersey shore and we stumbled upon a box of old photos taken wayyy back (the restaurant has been there over 60 years).
One photo grabbed my eye, there was the original proprietor's wife standing in front of what I believe to be a '47-'53 Chebby pickup.
What really got me interested was the door lettering with the restaurant's name on it. Old door art like that is really cool, and it would be neat to replicate it......maybe on my '49 F1?
Basically, I was wondering if anyone out there can nail down the year definitely?
I'd like to find out more info on this old pickup, like colors available/engine options and etc. The original proprietor's granddaughter (now in her late 60's) remembers the truck and thinks it was green or blue but doesn't have any other info.

I am pretty sure it is a 1949 because of the door handles. 49 models had door handles that twisted down like the Ford trucks that year. 49 also had the one piece window like the picture. I believe in 50 or 51 they went to a push button door handle. I had a 49 so it looks very much like the one I had. Would not bet on it but I think it might be a 49 model.

Thanks guys, it's a 49 or 50. We're going to try and locate some original paperwork on it if it's still kicking around in some files somewhere, good chance there might be something.
Hey Jules, what's shaking?
I've been ultra busy at work (70 hour weeks) plus I'm a contributing editor for a Ford drag racing magazine that consumes another 30 hours or so a month, and with the normal daily grind of life, it doesn't leave too much time for play.
I'm trying to maintain the race Ranger and keep up with the latest technology (frankly I'm just hoping to NOT blow up any more motors......damn nitrous). My first national event will be in May and I'm also scheduled to be on Pinks All Out in June.
We're still finishing my father's 1970 Cobra Torino SCJ dragpack car, and hope to have that all together by the spring as well.
On top of all this, the '49 is sitting out there. I did have her running in November, but that's as far as I got. I plan on having it driveable by May (I hope), but it's close now. I just sent out a set of block hugger headers I mocked up to be ceramic coated and will have them back soon, then I can get the Dynomax Ultra Flo's mounted up.
After that the front sheetmetal needs to go back on and finish wiring the lights up front. Other then that she's ready to go.
Things I've installed:
1970 302
Edelbrock intake
Holley carb
Lokar throttle cable
Torino gas pedal
MSD 6al box
MSD blaster 2 coil
MSD distributor
Powermaster 140 amp 1 wire alternator
C4 trans
rebuilt brakes
dual master cylinder/new brake lines/hoses
20 gallon aluminum fuel cell
aluminum battery box
aluminum radiator
Holley electric fuel pump/regulator
Russel fuel filters and all stainless braided fuel line throughout
Autometer gauges
aftermarket turn signal switch
EZ Wire 21 circuit wiring harness
new lights all around
Centerline Convo Pro wheels
new carpet
seat belts
I'm also trying to do it right the first time around, unlike my race truck and prior projects. I was trying to take my time with the wiring and heat shrink every terminal and run it all as clean as possible instead of having "spaghetti and meatballs" wiring like I find in the race truck sometimes when I'm rushing.
I don't have any recent pics, but these are the best I have so far. I haven't gotten to the body work stage, would like to drive it first, haha.
I do have plans for another motor already, 347 stroker on nitrous sound healthy?
