1996 F150 5.0 Starts Then Dies PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have a 1996 Ford F-150 5.0 manual 4x4. It drove about 10 miles then it stalled out. I got it running again and it would just idle. Now it wont even idle. If you let it sit for about an hour it will run for about 30 second and then just shut off (during 30 seconds you are able to push gas). After that it just fires up to 1200-1400k and shuts right back off (also if you push gas it shuts right off). I went through and changed the MAF, Cleaned the throttle body, Replaced the IAC, Replaced the ignition module, replaced the TPS. I also hooked up the fuel pressure tester and it seems to get 32-38psi when it will idle. Someone please help this is HELL!!!

Yes it had a p0102 and p0122 maf codes I think. I then cleared them and they didn't come back but couldn't get it to run very long. Is there anyway to test the ecu?

Are you getting spark on all the cylinders? Thats a good place to start. That can lead you to finding out if its a bad cap, rotor, distributor, or even bad ecu. A bad ECU would normally give you 0 spark so since your getting it to start for a short time it might be a bad distributor, cap,or rotor.

also physically inspect the cap and rotor for cracks or any abnormal markings/wear

Ya, if you dont see anything visibly wrong with them check each cable for spark as one of them could still be bad

I took it to ford they told it was the ignition coil. I changed that and it fired up and shut right off then I turn it on again and drove it about 3 miles home. Now I can start it up and it will stay idling but as soon as you hit the gas it falls on its face again but if you take your foot off it will now reboud and idle again.

maybe you've done / checked this already but you didn't mention it above .. make sure the air filter is clean .. as this sounds like a problem I had with my tractor a while back and it turned out the air filter was wet and not allowing much air thru ..

Did you replace the fuel filter ? check the fuel pressure regulator , pull the vacuum hose off & see if any gas comes out or if there any gas in the hose replace it , check the hose also ...Lew
