I had a friend that brought a 57 HD shriners bike home in boxes & milk crates. Its now one of the finest home built bikes I've ever seen.Great paint & plenty of chrome Its running 80 ci of solid power. Its running on a 2001 frame, brakes & electrical. The title is for 57 Harley. It runs great & no one has one just like it. I see your bike as a work in progress. A Harley can become what ever you want it to be.

thanks for the compliments all!! yes AMF was in on it, i dont know the years, but i keep getting told about it, lol.....i really like the stance, and i know that hardtail with kill me, but on the good side, its only a bolt on hardtail so i can convert it back later with a custom swingarm when i cant take it anymore.....not sure on the legality of brakes in oklahoma, but aside from a quick test run around the block when i get it fired up, it wont be seeing any drive time without a set of brakes up front, the wideglide forks are setup for 10" dual discs, so i just gotta locate some on the cheap....its definitely a project, but im soooo willing to work on it, considering i traded a Honda CB900F that needed the topend redone im not complaining....id much rather work on this ironhead than that Honda anyday!!! dont get me wrong, i liked the honda, it was real fast, smooth, good mileage, it just needed more than i was willing to give it...i still have a Honda cr250r dirtbike that runs like a champ!!!..once again, thanks for the support...one of our oklahoma chapter members called it a piglet, maybe ill name her that!! lol.....

AMF owned HD from 1969-1981, when they sold it back to a groupgroup of
who brought it back from the brink of total failure.
As a honda rider, I find the HD bikes to be works of art. I love their look and their sound. I think the bike you traded for is a beauty. Good luck with it, and post more pics. If I can get my videos from the phone to work, I'll be posting some video of my new exhaust for the VTX1300S.
To answer Preppypro, every one I've ever known who had an older HD said that you better know your way around the engine and not be afraid to turn some wrenches. Also heard that if they aint leakin' they're empty.

I heard a story once, long ago, from someone who had a hardtail and was trying to get a permit to ride and park it on a Marine Corps base in NC...
The MP's were giving him a hard time because the bike didn't have a front brake...
He wrote to HD to inquire about this and, as I was told, HD wrote back to him explaining that the hardtails didn't have front brakes because putting one one would render the bike unsafe in a stopping situation...
Take this for what it's worth - I was never able to validate his story...
I stand corrected, I didn't think AMF was involved that far back - now I know - Thanks
