Question How big is it?

Hi,
I found this big old ford on a friend of mine's property and was wondering what F-??? is was?
It has air brakes, tandem axle, and a big y- block.
I was also wondering what year it was and how many were approximately made.
It has the same gauge setup as my 1960 F-600 so I think it is a 1960.
Thanks,
Alex

My guess is that it is a 58 because of the round parking lights. Some of the Big Trucks will have to verify.

The grill is a '59.
I would guess it is an 850 or bigger but I am not an authority on the big trucks by any stretch.

Alex,

I wish I could nail it down for you but I only have info for 1956. The T-series (for Tandem axle trucks) is just another series like the P-series, the F-series, etc. T-series trucks available in 1956 were the T-700, T-750, and T-800 chassis. I don't know if they added other versions of the T-series in the next three or four years.

Judging by the emblems its a 1960. The Bigjobs for 1960 used the 1959 grille.
The T-750 used either the 292HD Y-block or the larger 302 motor. The T800 was 302 and 332 powered and the T850 T950 could of been optioned with 401, 477 and 534 superduty engines. Grab the vin code, usually found behind the glovebox door.

Looking at it, it could be 58 or 59 or 60. It is a T (tandem) Series, and 58 - 60 700 and up looked the same in the front. See if you can get a picture of the rating plate, be interesting to see what it is. T Series included T700, T750, T800, T850, and T950. Where has that thing been hiding?

that would be sweet to fix up and use to haul stuff, like a racecar.

Yeah, it sure looks like a 58 or a 59!

by the size of the wheels, it looks like a T750/800
