Anyone know the driveshaft length for a '66 swb 4-spd?

I'm putting a 4-spd in place of the 3-spd and need a longer driveshaft. I'm using a T-19, which I believe is the same length as the oe NP435. The 3-spd driveshaft will have to be lengthened. Does anyone have a 4-spd driveshaft they can measure for me? I think I need the distance between the u-joint centres. TIA.

6t6Merc,
I'm confused -- are your working on a F250 (as listed in your profile) long box or a F100 short wheel base truck?

I've got a T-18 in a '65 short wheel base F100 (one piece driveshaft) that I can measure for ya.......
But I don't know if a T-18 is the same length as a T-19 transmission....

Please advise....

I think I need the distance between the u-joint centres, which the following measurement is based on.
C8TZ4602DE .. One Piece Driveshaft / 59 25/32" long.

Fits: 1965/66 F100 2WD 240/300/352 115" wheelbase w/ Ford 9" Rear Axle / Use w/ New Process 435 & Warner T-18 4 Speed Transmissions.

Fits: 1967 F100 2WD 352 115" wheelbase w/ Dana 60.3 Rear Axle (it was an option) / Use w/ Warner T-18 4 Speed Transmission.

Fits: 1967/72 F100 2WD 240/300/360/390 115" wheebase w/Ford 9" Rear Axle / Use w/ Warner T-18 & New Process 435 4 Speed Transmissions.

The Warner T-19 4 speed was factory installed for the very first time in 1979...F350's ONLY.

I dunno if the T-18 is the same length as a T-19.

Sorry, guys.

The '66 Merc 250 is long gone, and I won't be in Cambodia until Thursday.
I'm now working on a '66 F100 swb and making some changes. I'll rely on Bill's info re length and can advise that the T-19 appears to me to be the same length as the NP435, which Bill says is the same as the T-18, so all three are the same I guess...
Thanks for the help.

Great Reply Bill, An oft asked question. You should compile the most common factory combination and post a sticky...

I typically install the trans/engine set the correct drive line angle than order or scrounge up a shaft to fit.

I dont understand how come the 61-66 section does NOT have any stickys at the top like all the other thread sections do! It just makes sence to have them, anyone else think we should have them?

I've spoken with IB Adrian about this...twice...at the Western Nats Truck Show in 2007/2008.

He said it was an excellent idea, but..I've heard no more.

I've offered to go to IB HQ (it's just south of LAX) with parts catalogs, 1965/66 accessory brochures, owners manuals, FoMoCo color chip charts and the upholstery swatches.

So... not only could all sorts of info be listed, but the parts catalog illustrations (which are BADLY needed here), could be scanned and posted.

What y'all need to do is...P/M Adrian...and light a fire under him.

I know it was this section that the site was built on, but don't think it has the traffic that some of the other forums do now. Not much attention is paid to it.
