Looking at an 88 F350. Anything to look out for?

I'm going to be looking at an 88 F350 regular cab 4x4 with the 460 and manual transmission. I'm new to these older Fords so I'm not sure of any common problems to look out for. The truck is in really good shape for a 22 year old truck and the asking price is $2500. Is there anything I should look out for?

I won't be using this truck as a daily driver or anything like that. I'm mainly looking for a good truck to tow my solid axle ranger to the offroad areas.

the most common thing i can think of is if both gas tanks work and the gauge cluster works and is accurate. if you buy it send us some pics of it!

Ok I'll make sure to check that. I'll post pics for sure if I end up buying it.

Also check the oil pan. They rust too and engine has to be jacked up to replace!

350s are a damb good work-horse. They usually have top end gear in them.

Thanks for the tips guys. I went ahead and picked the truck up, but the man was mistaken about the engine. It had a 351 in it, not a 460 as he originally stated on the phone. Either way the 351 should be more than capable of towing my ranger around. Both tanks and all the gauges do work. Also there is no rust anywhere on this truck. I guess being a southern New Mexico truck its whole life rust isnt much of a concern. Thanks again guys, I'll have to get pics of it when its light out.
