Underbed spare tire carrier for 52 F1

Hey all, I'm looking for some pics and dimensions for an under the bed factory spare tire carrier. I'm missing mine, i would like to find one or if I have to make one. I'm having trouble locating pics or even anybody selling one. I figured there be lots form folks that put in mustang tanks? How interchangeable are they? years swap?

thanks

I can help with pics, but that's about it. I had to look hard and pay retail for an F-3 carrier. They are different than the F-1s. Stu

I installed a late model cable mechanism in mine. I don't like crawling under the truck with a wrench and fighting with a heavy tire. My original was missing.

If you don't like crawling under the truck to get the spare, you can always do this:

Northern Classic Trucks carries one for $80, part # 4825SWC.

Finding the original hardware is the issue, but I'm sure that you can find something close.

I'm also using a cable operated, drop down spare carrier. It's from an aerostar van.

That's my plan, too. As I recall from past threads, the stock carrier steel is pretty easy to come by, but the hardware is not repro'd, or at least not all of it.

I was at UPullIt a while back and saw all kind of potential donors for a winch-up system. Just need to go back with appropriate tools and a tape measure.

that's not a bad idea. toyota landcruisers have a nice small unit. Lots of folks pull them(remove tire) for better ground clearance.

thanks all
