will this 5.8 be a good swap for my 5.0?

There is a 94 5.8 engine for sale here locally. I am considering doing the 5.8 swap into my 95 4wd f150 with the 5.0 and 4r70w transmission. My truck is MAF,haven't went to look at the 94 engine, but I should be able to use my MAF computer in my 95 to run the 5.8,right? The 94 came out of a 2wd drive truck, are the oil pans the same or would i need to find a pan for a 4wd? any other differences to consider?

That's a good candidate and yes it will bolt right in with a 28oz AOD/4R70w flexplate.

How complete is the 5.8? In all, the main differences are oil pan, exhaust (might be just the y pipe that is different, hopefully someone can chime in on that one), intake manifold and distributor. If it is all there then like Conanski said you should be able to get by just changing the flexplate....Good luck!
