'52 F6 clutch parts

Hi,

My friend here in Finland is restoring a '52 F6. Our first attempt to purchase correct clutch parts failed, not because of the vendor but because we were not thorough enough in measuring. We should have asked this forum first...

Does anyone know the correct part numbers for clutch disc and pressure bearing for '52 F6 V8 ? Our measurements:

Original parts:
Clutch disc hole diameter: 1.389" (10 spline)
Clutch disc diameter: 11.02"
Throwout bearing hole diameter: 2.086" (about, still in place)

Thanks,

Pekka

They should be able to supply an 11" clutch disk for a truck - if they can't contact Joblot Automotive in NY. It was used in F4 - F6. 59T-7550-B

Are you looking for the throw-out bearing? Basic number is 7580

Hey Pekka~
The 48-56 Ford Chassis book shows clutch p/n as: 81T-7550 11" and used in F1 - F6
Joblot also shows the same p/n and lists for years 48-68

The throwout (clutch release) bearing is listed in the Ford book as p/n C0TZ-7580-A and used in F1-F6
Joblot catalog p/n is 78-7580A and shows years covered as 48-70 and for F1/100 - F6/600
Joblot link: JobLot Automotive

Pilot Bearing (in back of crankshaft / nose of input shaft) in Ford part book shows 2, difference is a few thousandths in o.d. and i.d.
B-7600-A 1.5743/1.5748" O.D, .6689/.6683 I.D., .4674/.4724 thick
70-7600-B 1.575/1.756 O.D., .6715/.6725 I.D. .495/.505 thick
Job Lot shows 2 similar number parts 1st double shield, second oilite bronze

Some other sources to check:
Mac's Auto Parts: MAC’s: Dealer of Restoration Parts for Classic, Antique, Vintage Ford Autos, Cars & Trucks: Street Rod Parts, Vintage/Classic Ford Manuals & much more!
NPD Nationa Part Depot: NPDLink | National Parts Depot

Good luck

Thank you !

Excellent information. Looks like Joblot is a good source of parts for the big models.

My friends aim is to complete the restoration of the '52 F6 this spring. The work is progressing very nicely.

I still can't post pics to this forum but I will link them when I get more available.

It's an interesting truck in many ways, assembled in Belgium and very low mileage, owned previously by a vocational school.

I am building a slightly altered '51 F1 myself. I am now in the assembly phase, the cab is on the frame, engine and drivetrain in place. Next is electrical stuff, fuel line, tank etc.

I also have another friend who is starting a '50 F6 restoration. It has been owned by his father's trucking company since new, the doors still has the old logo and phone numbers.

Thanks,

Pekka

I visioned my F1 first by painting a 1/24 die-cast model (it's cheaper to choose the color this way...):

Wow that looks great.

Just FYI the Mercury in the background of the one picture is worth a bundle over here. It's one of the most sought after cars for conversion to a rod!

Job lot should do it for you. Even though Ford has changed all the part numbers (and Bob gave you the joblot numbers).

I looked for an exploded diagram to post of your clutch assemble, but there doesn't seem to be on ein all th ebooks I looked at. Sorry!

Pekka~
Nice looking trucks, thanks for sharing the pics.
Julie~
The more I search manuals, catalogs and CD copies I see more and more disconnects between part numers in lists vs drawings. I know the Ford part numbers have long changed, just figured I'd cover the bases and give what I had. And good point on the exploded view for Pekka. What I have on CD is for 53/. The print chassis book I have (Jan '52) only has one for the QH, but it's close in design to the smaller trucks, save the pedal mount set-up, and will provide base numbers to parts. So I scanned the page and enclosed below for Pekka. It's a bit large but if I downsized more the print started getting fuzzy.
