I like the idea of dual sensors with a switch mounted in-line. Reps sent Brandon!

Yep and the coolant temperature decreases faster than the oil temp also.

While it looks good, a oil temp sender should be in the res if you do it like that, if not it will take a long time to warm up because the oil in that T does not get transfered out of the T, it is only under pressure and warms thru convexction. Not knocking it, but without fluid transfer your not getting the correct temp reading.

For what its worth.

Quick question...
Is the brass plug 1/8 NPT, if not can someone provide the size?
Thanks A Million!

So would it be better to mount it in the filter housing where the brass plug is?

Aren't you getting the temperature of the oil straight out of the oil cooler on the filter port?

Don't know that location provides very beneficial information either.

No better or worse, it just needs to be in the flow...

That location is just before it goes INTO the cooler.

Not unless you reverse the flow of the oil through your engine somehow.

It doesn't matter how good of a cooler you have, it's it's pretty simple physics that it's not going to take the oil temperature all the way down to the water temperature.

Once up to operating temp it depends on the load... I see anywhere from 190 to 220...
