I would like some feedback for supercharging the older 99-03 Expeditions. I am looking to get one and supercharge it as an occasional driver and an occasional tow vehicle to tow. I would like to modify it to occassionally tow a 8500# trailer. Would the brakes, trans and cooling system be up to the demand? I prefer a simple reliable blower don't really need the something for maximum horsepower just healthy gains to help. Is this too much for this platform?

If it's a 5.4, then yes. I've had the Kenne Bell kit on my motor for just a tad over 100,000 miles (I think). And before anyone calls me on it, yes it's the second motor and the first breakage was my fault.

 

Yes I am looking at getting a 5.4 Expedition 4x4 then adding a supercharger (unless I can find one that already is). Did you put the kit on only at Kenne Bell specified or did you make any mods?

For the 5.4 you can put a Lightning blower setup on there.
You can find them pretty cheep now!
