got another question about the spartan

It all depends on what hp tunes you plan to run with the Spartan. As far as I know the stock air box works good with the lower hp tunes but there are reports that the higher tunes (250+) will suck the stock air filter into the engine. I would think that you could also just replace the stock filter with a K&N and leave the stock box to avoid that problem?? I know it looks like a real headache but changing out the stock air box is a really easy job if you do decide to do it down the road, takes basic tools, 2-3 beers and about an hour.

No one informed me of that! I have been running the 250hp tune every day and I am still on a stock filter. I better take a look under the hood! Hahaha. I have also run the 275hp tune on the stock filter. I would love the 250hp even more if it just shifted smoother! I wish there was a way to smooth out the shifts. I think it is only the 1-2 and the 2-3 shifts that just pound!

i'm about to pull the trigger for mileage reasons...
that said, the 275 tune is supposed to be best, and it costs $400 extra bones. THATS NUTS when it is already going to be 1500 for the longer pipe that removes the DPF and CAT....
when did a couple extra feet of pipe become worth 200?
and an air filter?
These guys swear no probs with the engine etc.. but can i trust a company that is trying to force me ever so hard into 2k for mods? Just seems a little slimey.
(it's 1900 for the full exhaust, intake, comp, and tunes. It's 1500 for the tunes without 275 and 310 tune, with a cat/dpf delete, and without and airfiler...)

I feel you on the above. Spartan really seems like a solid company. I have read very little negative about them. I just dont understand how you charge 300-400 bucks for extra tunes. Isnt 1200 enough. That being said it seems they have an awsome product that in theory should pay for itself over time. Now convincing my wife of this is a whole different story.

We are not forcing anything on anyone. The basic tuner comes with 12 tunes from the 40 to 250hp. If you don't want to purchase the pipe, then you can get it somewhere else. And, the 275 tune is $300, not $400. It's $400 if you want to purchase the 275 and the 310. If your so worried about spending the money, and us being slimey, then maybe you need to consider purchasing a tuner from somewhere else!!!!! Then you can say you got what you paid for...
The DashDAQ can't be updated on a MAC computer unless you have a program for it that will allow you to operate windows based programs.
