ABS Light still on?

ABS Light still on?
I have an abs light on on the dash. 1993 f250 5.8, zf5, 4x4.
I replaced the vehicle speed sensor/abs sensor on the pumpkin today, which made the speedo work again, but the abs light is still on.
Do I need to reset a code or something or would the light have gone out on it's own if all was well?
Thanks!

Computer has nothing to do with it, does not store and hold ABS codes so clearing it won't help.
First be sure its full of fluid and the "float" switch is not stuck down at the bottom of the reservoir on the M/C.
Then check fuse number 15? or 13? ah don't recall the exact number at the moment. Check the legend inside the cover, if the ABS fuse is blown the light stays on (Driver side end of the dash).
If that proves good check the connections at the connector at the bottom of the reservoir on the master cylinder itself, loose connection there causes the light to stay on.
If that fails to correct the problem you need to check for RABS codes via the connector under the dash right in front of the glove box. No need to remove the glove box, just behind the bottom edge of the dash itself.
Black with a orange stripe on one lead, solid orange on the other side lead to the connector. Disconnect the connector, turn the key on a ground the blk-org wire for several seconds and the ABS light will flash any codes. If you don't have a manual post the flashes and I'll be happy to look it up for you.
16 flashes is "system operating correctly" RABS II.

Check to make sure both brake lights light up when you depress the brake pedal. I have a 1996 F350 and that’s what it was causing my ABS to stay come on at 15MPH and stay on. Also make sure your rear brake/tail light wiring is in good condition. Sometimes after market add-ons like trailer brake lights have had gunny sack installation. My overdrive would also shift in and out of OD. Code reader and Ford told me my transmission was bad because I have 217,000 miles on it. 4 way flasher button may also cause it as someone could have spilled a sugary liquid at that vulnerable location.
When it appears that flasher button area is problem push it in and pull it out 100 times. Dried sugary drinks causes contacts to be insulated open when they should be making contact
Good luck
