Blank VIN/rating stickers on EBs-Why??

Why are the ratings stickers that I have seen on EBs, have blank spaces for the catagories -ie axle , trim ect??

Other Fords will have all of these categories on the VIN/rating stickers populated.

Are the 170/200 sixes worth considering-when looking for a very clean stock 66-74 Bronco?? Is the 4.56 axle, three-on-tree combination geared overall low enough to enjoy on the trail?

1) They're in the codes, just have to decifer them. BroncoOhio or something like that has the charts. Someone will post the right link.
2) The sixes are fine off road, freeway driving is a little diff story.
3) 4.56 gears are low enough unless you're going to run 35's or above.

No 6's Stay with a 302 only, 71.5 & up better axles & brakes. 4.56 is real low, std. is 3.50, some come locked, post the vin & we can decode it for ya.

My $.02.
Don't worry about which engine is in it, you can change that easy enough if you find you don't like the six.
Get the cleanest EB you can afford. It is so much easier doing the mechanical work than rust repair. IMHO.
I just bought my first six cylinder EB because the body is so clean.

Found the site I was looking for: broncohio
Only reason I can think of is if the codes are missing, it's possible someone got a new vin plate from Marti Autoworks and didn't provide all the info. I wouldn't let a six be a deal breaker. I just built one on purpose. Diff strokes for diff folks.

10x on that I like my stroked BOSS 351w "CLEVOR" 383ci

Get the best body you can find. anything earlier than 1971.5 will have all the weak links. opt for auto, V8, Power steering, PDB's It will save you 3K in the long run.

Best ones come from AZ, OK & TX for Museum Orig. Oregon is the place to get an all orig EB. $$$$$$$
