my 96 f150 rear end is slipping every time i take off hard.... so i went and put limited slip oil in the rear end.... it's still slipping any ideas what i should do?

is this true because my 2 that were wrecked and my current 2 4x4s are all 3.55 open. if its true man i dont have anyluck getting a LS

Muddman, If you have a limited slip rear you may need to rebuild it. There is an axle code on the doorjamb that you can post here and someone will decode it for you, or do a google search.
Deljac, not all 4x4's are limited slip, I'd say more like 25% or so, just my guess

First, welcome to FTE.

Second, you should start your own thread rather than bring up an old one. It confuses people.

Third, despite its name, there is nothing to slip in the rear end every time you take off. If you're driving in a straight line, there is no slipping happening at all. There can't be because there are gears in the rear end that turn the wheels.

Your slipping is coming from somewhere else, probably your transmission. We also need to know the particulars of your truck. Year, model, engine, transmission, miles, symptoms, recent repairs, etc.
