Howdy, I've a tailgate that is stuck and the reason is that one of the clips connecting the latch release links to the handle assembly has broken. Seems like a simple thing but every re-assembly self build effort I've made has failed. I had bought a new handle assembly hoping it would have the clips but they did not. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, -Robert

 

Available from Ford. The same clip was used on 1973/96 F100/350's & F(Super Duty) / 1997/99 F(Super Duty).

This clip was sold separately. It did not come with the t/gate handle or the rods.

Most dealers will have this clip, because...it was also used on the door lock cylinder rods of Crown Vics/Mercury Grand Marquis/Lincoln Town Cars, the front/side & back door lock cylinder rods of Econolines, the door latch rods on 1993/2010 Rangers...and a gazillion other applications.

 

Those things are also sometimes available in the HELP section of auto parts stores.
