My '87 F-150 hasn't had the handle in the cab since I got it. The cable broke at some point for the PO, so I reach my hand through the grille and give what's left of the cable a tug.
My '95 doesn't have a hood latch and has hood pins instead, again, the PO did it, but I like not having to go in the cab to open the hood.
I live in an area where I don't have to worry about anyone stealing anything out of my truck.

I have an out side hood release ..
this is how you do it.. break out your Inside hood pull rod, then glue it back in place just for looks ...
walk to the front of your engine... stick your hands thou the grid and pull in the blck cable pops your hood,, very simple easy and quick...
