efi manifold question

efi manifold question
So I'm gonna go to the local pick n pull today to try and find an efi exhaust manifold, last time I was there there were like 5 efi trucks.
But my question is this: Will an efi exhaust manifold bolt right up to a carbureted engine? will it fit with the stock intake manifold? any tips for install?

Well... Maybe I won't be doing the swap... went down there and they wanted 45 plus tax for one, if I am reading correct, the efi setup is two manifolds next to each other. Not really lookin to spend a hundred for used parts... maybe I'll do the headers and see what I can figure out about making them not leak, it's amazing what you can do with metal/pipe benders and a welder, I just don't feel like makin my own headers, haha

There is a set on E-Bay right now with a "buy it now" price of $45 and free shipping.Auction Item #360220814330 If you search for" '96 Ford f150 exhaust manifold" you should find it.The name of the place is Spalding Auto Parts Inc.
There are also other manifolds that are reasonable, but you have to search them by 300,4.9, '87-'96 ect. to find them. The one I have above will fool you with the picture, all they show is the truck and down farther in the listing you see it as a "2 piece manifold".Good luck.

well, now I'm gonna focus on fixin the engine, got it almost torn apart, just have to take off the head, had some problems gettin the exhaust pipe off the manifold, ended up just leaving it together and pullin the two manifolds together, with the pipe, off. then I can see what's goin on with this head, and if the motor is worn and if it is a 240 or a 300. pickin up a 65 240 tomorrow, if this engine is in need of a rebuild then the one i'm picking up is going in.

Hopefully you haven't fully given up on the EFI exhaust manifolds yet. They're worth every bit of the trouble.
I noticed a great increase in performance and fuel mileage when I put them on.
Here's some pics of the swap:

Unfortunately, the only pics I didn't get were where I had to do grinding. It wasn't hard though. There's one eyelet (only used on EFI blocks, so it isn't even used) that hit into the intake, and then a nub that stuck out and got in the way.
The other part of the process is providing the heat for the intake (since the exhaust manifold isn't doing it any more.) I think the process got covered pretty well in this thread:

The only other thing is you will need to redo the exhaust, since A) you have two manifold exits instead of one and B) you just really opened up the engine with the new manifolds and it'd be a shame to not have a high flow exhaust to accommodate it.
Is that pick-n-pull the only one available around there? That's insanely expensive. I just snapped off an exhaust stud in one of mine and ran and got another for $20. As stated above, you can find them shipped on ebay for less than what they're charging.

85 bronco 300 in progress.
Thanks Abandoned for all your write-ups

Oh I'm not giving up on it! It's just making the thing driving again is taking a bit of priority, as it's my daily driver and school starts up again on tuesday...
Yes it's the only one around here, there is one more north, but the gas it would be to go up there isn't really worth it to me to take a chance that there might be one. I'm gonna keep looking for them cheap.
It really surprised me actually! I got a whole gauge cluster and sun visor and assorted switches/***** out of a 66 F-250 for like 20 bucks! I was expecting 30 maybe 45 for the set!
